Noah Spina: Soltex Scholarship Recipient
At Soltex, we believe in investing in future leaders, students whose ambition, resilience, and curiosity reflect the spirit of innovation. One such leader is Noah Spina, a driven and dynamic Soltex scholarship recipient from Bayville, New Jersey, who is on an inspiring path in the world of software engineering.
Noah’s academic journey began with uncertainty, but things changed during an introductory coding class in his first year of college. Initially undecided on a major, he explored mechanical engineering, seeking a broad field that blended technical disciplines.
However, after working on an electromechanical arm in a summer research lab, he realized his heart belonged in coding. “I found myself practicing code every chance I got,” Noah says. That moment of clarity led him to change his major to Software Engineering, declare a Computer Science minor, and commit to a master’s degree, all in pursuit of mastering a field that felt like home.
Among Noah’s proudest accomplishments is graduating from Stevens Institute of Technology with the highest honors in Spring 2025, followed by the start of a master’s in computer science, which he is set to complete in Spring 2026.
Powered by Opportunity and Mentorship
The Soltex scholarship didn’t just offer financial support; it unlocked life-changing opportunities. “This scholarship allowed me to focus on my academics and graduate with highest honors,” Noah shares. It also gave him the chance to study abroad, first in Florence, Italy in Summer 2022, then in Japan in January 2025, experiences that created a lasting passion for travel.
Perhaps most impactful of all was the connection the scholarship provided. Through Soltex’s own Tony Massoud and his son Matthew Massoud, Noah secured an internship, giving him vital real-world experience and a steppingstone toward his career. “It’s been one of the greatest experiences of college. I’ve not only met great friends, but I also met a great mentor and leader. I aspire to lead like Tony someday,” he says.
More Than Academics
Outside the classroom, Noah enjoys pickleball, video games, and of course, traveling. At home, he’s surrounded by energy and love, thanks to four dogs and four cats! Noah isn’t just thinking about a career, he’s building a full life. His goals stretch from becoming a subject matter expert in software to starting a family, owning a home, growing a garden, and exploring the world.
