Team Member Spotlight: Bret Timme

Meet Bret Timme, our Electrical Engineer I, supporting both Operations and Soltex R&D. Over the past two years, Bret has worked across a broad range of technical areas, including product development, testing, process design, and customer-facing support. His role is highly collaborative, requiring coordination with internal engineering and production teams as well as engagement with customers seeking technical solutions. One standout area of his work involves dielectric and thermal fluid products, where he focuses on single-phase immersion cooling applications. His ability to integrate electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineering has helped advance innovation in this growing field.
Bret strongly believes in clear and honest communication, especially in engineering environments where collaboration is critical. He believes that success doesn’t come solely from having technical knowledge, but from the ability to explain ideas, listen well, and admit you’re still learning. This mindset is essential to his approach at Soltex, where he’s known for taking initiative and proactively solving challenges before they become problems. Additionally, Bret represents Soltex and participates within several technical organizations to help influence and translate insight into our strategies. Participating in these groups allows him to stay connected to the latest developments in the industry.
Bret describes himself as resilient, curious, and driven, three qualities that clearly show in his work. He adapts quickly, seeks to understand problems, and consistently pushes projects forward. These traits make him a strong contributor and a valuable part of the Soltex team.

Tank Farm Expansion – Baytown, TX
Exciting changes are underway in Baytown, Texas, where construction is actively progressing on a tank farm expansion project. This growth represents a major step forward in Soltex’s continued investment and focus into the dielectric and thermoconductive fluid industry, increasing capacity, improving logistics, and better serving the needs of our customers.
The project is already taking shape. The first phase of tanks has been installed, and construction of catwalks and stairs is currently in progress. Once complete, the expansion will include 11 tanks, each with a 21,000-gallon capacity, dedicated to both blending and storage. These enhancements will improve our ability to manage product volume, reduce turnaround time, and increase operational flexibility.
Though still under construction, the project is moving steadily toward completion and is expected to be finalized before the end of the year. As the expansion nears completion, we’re looking forward to the value it will add, not just infrastructure, but creating new opportunities to strengthen the value, reliability, and support for our customers.

Soltex Achieves ACD Certificate of Sustainability through Responsible Distribution 2023 Compliance

At Soltex, we are proud to announce that we have achieved the Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) Certificate of Sustainability, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable business practices and responsible chemical distribution. This milestone was accomplished by completing the Responsible Distribution 2023 verification, including the requirements of Code VI: Sustainability.
For over 35 years, Soltex has prioritized responsible chemical distribution, and we are honored to be part of ACD’s Responsible Distribution program, a cornerstone of excellence in our industry. With the introduction of Code VI: Sustainability, we have taken our commitment a step further. This new code expands on the principles of environmental stewardship, ethical governance, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement, aligning with global sustainability expectations.
Meeting and Exceeding the Requirements of Code VI
As part of the Responsible Distribution 2023 verification, our team evaluated our practices to ensure they met, and in many areas, exceeded the requirements set forth in Code VI. We have integrated sustainability into every aspect of our operations to minimize environmental impact, enhance health and safety, promote transparency, and foster sustainable practices across our entire value chain. Achieving the ACD Certificate of Sustainability is not just a badge; it is a testament to our dedication to building a sustainable future for our industry, our customers, and our communities.
Looking Ahead
We recognize that sustainability is an ongoing journey, not a destination. At Soltex, we remain committed to supporting the people and communities we serve. By aligning our practices with ACD’s Responsible Distribution program, we aim to set the standard for responsible chemical distribution and sustainable growth.
We are grateful to ACD and our partners for their support as we continue this journey. Together, we can shape a more sustainable, ethical, and responsible chemical industry for generations to come.
Meet Noah Spina: Outstanding Scholar

Noah Spina: Soltex Scholarship Recipient
At Soltex, we believe in investing in future leaders, students whose ambition, resilience, and curiosity reflect the spirit of innovation. One such leader is Noah Spina, a driven and dynamic Soltex scholarship recipient from Bayville, New Jersey, who is on an inspiring path in the world of software engineering.
Noah’s academic journey began with uncertainty, but things changed during an introductory coding class in his first year of college. Initially undecided on a major, he explored mechanical engineering, seeking a broad field that blended technical disciplines.
However, after working on an electromechanical arm in a summer research lab, he realized his heart belonged in coding. “I found myself practicing code every chance I got,” Noah says. That moment of clarity led him to change his major to Software Engineering, declare a Computer Science minor, and commit to a master’s degree, all in pursuit of mastering a field that felt like home.
Among Noah’s proudest accomplishments is graduating from Stevens Institute of Technology with the highest honors in Spring 2025, followed by the start of a master’s in computer science, which he is set to complete in Spring 2026.
Powered by Opportunity and Mentorship
The Soltex scholarship didn’t just offer financial support; it unlocked life-changing opportunities. “This scholarship allowed me to focus on my academics and graduate with highest honors,” Noah shares. It also gave him the chance to study abroad, first in Florence, Italy in Summer 2022, then in Japan in January 2025, experiences that created a lasting passion for travel.
Perhaps most impactful of all was the connection the scholarship provided. Through Soltex’s own Tony Massoud and his son Matthew Massoud, Noah secured an internship, giving him vital real-world experience and a steppingstone toward his career. “It’s been one of the greatest experiences of college. I’ve not only met great friends, but I also met a great mentor and leader. I aspire to lead like Tony someday,” he says.
More Than Academics
Outside the classroom, Noah enjoys pickleball, video games, and of course, traveling. At home, he’s surrounded by energy and love, thanks to four dogs and four cats! Noah isn’t just thinking about a career, he’s building a full life. His goals stretch from becoming a subject matter expert in software to starting a family, owning a home, growing a garden, and exploring the world.
